About
Shiro Ten (テン・シロ) was born to a unwilling mother, with an unknown father, and to a grandmother who hated him. A few years after they were born, Shiro was left abandoned in their birth village- Icefront of Minion Island- as their family fled the dying town. He ate the Mix-Mix Fruit (ミスミスの実) at age 5 and became a Merging Human. With it's heritage, however, it was quickly able to adapt to living on it's own and fending for itself. Right up until his abandoned town get some unusual visitors when he was 11 years old. And then, well- life really began for them.
Perserverant. Hopeful. Resilient.
When meeting new people Shiro notably energy matches, especially if not around anyone he already trusts to have his back. Survivability is a high functioning priority in his life, and he will mimic and blend in at the drop of a hat. It's a sign of trust, actually, when he openly defies you- it means he trusts you to not turn against him for the action, and hear him out. Being attacked is never a concern for him, but cutting off a valuable resources- that gets him. So it's never a matter of whether he thinks he can take you in a fight- it's a matter of whether denying you will come back to bite him in the butt or not.
If they don't trust you enought to outright deny you, but doesn't agree with you, Shiro won't agree with you. Instead, they'll either brush off the comment and divert the topic elsewhere, or they'll go... still. Still still. They'll stop any laughter immediately, their expression will fall flat and frozen, and any motion they were making will stop in it's tracks. It's almost unnerving, because there's one part of them that doesn't freeze- their eyes. You can visibly see as their gaze tracks your every motion, dissecting whatever it is you just said into the roots it's sewn in your soul.
You can try repeating it, if you like, but they heard you the first time. And by the time you've done so, they know both where that comment came from in your formative experiences, and how open to change you are- here and now. And from there... they've evaluated whether you're someone they want on their side, or someone they want disregarded with a pleasant but final tone.
They are a therapist second, yes. And a fighter third, of course. But first? First and foremost? They are a survivor.
And you've just proven where your feet are standing, and the path they're treading.
His crewmates say it's better if you see him before he see's you. Because Shiro runs on well founded instincts, with the sharp mind of a predator to back it up, no matter how soft and fluffy the demeanor he gives you is. And, as his crewmates will attest, Shiro is very good at sneaking up on people. He has a habit of appearing randomly near you, they whisper, only half joking. The reality is that with his short height, quiet footsteps, and a tendency to keep himself quiet unless he knows he's alone- Shiro just. Easily unnoticable. He doesn't have a lot of presence in rest, and that's very intentional. Which means people don't notice if he's been standing behind them for five minutes, needing to talk to them but not wanting to interupt the clearly important conversation (which he knows is important; he can hear it). Or, well, he'll round a corner forgetting that just because he can hear Penguin and Shachi discussing the meal plan, that doesn't mean they can hear him shuffling the papers in his binder.
Unintentional sneakiness aside, by the time you've reached them, if Shiro saw you coming, they know why you're there and what you want from them. Oh, they'll let you lead them there, but if they saw you- they know.
They're very good at knowing. If their crewmates didn't know them so well, the crew has collectively agreed it would be disturbing. As it is, however, they all know one thing; Shiro would never use their knowledge to hurt the crew. Shiro is a genius, yes, when it comes to figuring out the puzzles that are individuals- but they are a therapist at heart; a doctor. And that is a type of person the Heart Pirates know well.

first impressions From a distance, Shiro is read as a short, frail pirate in a boiler-suit that's too big for him and eyes that are too large for his face. But, upon seeing his lips stretch out into a grin, one is forced to do a double take at the razor sharp teeth contained within his mouth. The whisker marks on his cheeks are genetic, though naturally a silvery gray that he fills in with a darker colour each morning. And, should you first meet him in battle and select him as an easy target, you'll find yourself taken aback by the raw strength contained within wirey muscles.
Shiro has a slim build from malnutrition as a child. His muscles have gained more definition as he found a more safe environment to live in, but they're still deceptive to the actual strength contained in his body. His eyes are naturally a very dark grey, appearing black to the casual viewer, adding to his 'cute' like appearance. His sharpened teeth, nails, and whisker markings betray his mixed heritage, however. It would be extremely unwise to battle him head on, especially under the light of a full moon.
features Being a lesser hybrid, Shiro has a few notable features. Their teeth are sharpened and designed for shredding food for a carnivorous leaning diet. Their whisker markings have been there since birth, and have grown with them as they matured. Their limbs are slightly short for their preportions, even with them staying fairly short in actual height. Their eyes are such a dark grey that they are often mistaken for black, and they have the same reflective qualities as noctornal wildlife. Shiro tends to need sunglasses or a hat covering if they're going to leave the submarine for several hours.
Their hair is naturally white with black ends, often giving them an appearance of a black ponytail against the rest of their white hair. The most of their body hair is also white, but their leg and arm hair have a mixture of white and black across the skin.
Shiro has a naturally lithe appearance, despite their shorter limbs, with a lot of wirey muscle hidden underneath their frame. Starvation at a young aged, combined with their animalist traits, left them with a survivor's body. They wield a club-type weapon akin to a waddy, something they used for hunting well before becoming a part of the fighting force of a pirate crew.
